LUCENA CITY, Quezon – In response to a surge in influenza-like illnesses, the provincial government has mandated the wearing of face masks throughout the province to help curb the spread of infection.
The order issued by Gov. Helen Tan is effective immediately.
Face masks should be worn in indoor settings and outdoor areas where physical distancing is not observed.
Meanwhile, the Lucena City government, headed by Mayor Mark Alcala, has suspended face-to-face classes at all levels in the city due to the continued increase in flu cases from Oct. 20 to 22.
Alcala reminded residents to wear face masks indoors and outdoors.
