Two of showbiz’s brightest, Kim Chiu and Zsa Zsa Padilla, traded the spotlight for service recently, lending a helping hand to Cebuanos affected by the devastation caused by a 6.9-magnitude earthquake.
The Chinita Princess, who was in Cebu taping her upcoming series “The Alibi,” put filming aside to focus on helping families left homeless by the quake.
Known for her deep Cebuano roots, Kim personally organized the purchase of construction materials, including lumber and roofing sheets, to help rebuild houses in hard-hit towns like San Remigio and Bogo.

Reports said she arranged for two truckloads of supplies, overseeing the logistics herself.
Meanwhile, Zsa Zsa also flew to Cebu to personally deliver ready-to-eat food packs and monetary aid to the Cebu Provincial Capitol command center.

She also took to social media to rally support, posting a heartfelt call: “Please help Cebu. Let’s pray for Cebu.”
Her gesture was warmly received by both local officials and quake survivors, who saw in her the same grace she brings to the concert stage.
