Rising star Dwayne Wade Decena was honored by the Koronanal City Council on Monday, Sept, 29, for his stellar performance in the Asian darts qualifying tournament that earned him a spot in the 2025 PDC Winmau World Youth Championship in Wigan, England next month.
Showing deadly marksmanship plus steely nerves, Decena produced one of tournament’s biggest comeback wins as he rallied from a 0-2 deficit to stun Hong Kong’s Lok Yin Lee, 5-4, to top the qualifiers.

The resolution, filed by Councilor Ma. Ester M. Catorce, was unanimously approved by the City Council.
The World Youth Championship will gather the finest young darters – around 128 of them and 12 are Filipinos.
Joining Decena in the PH team are cousin Dart Decena, Moses Habil, Japeth Malaluan, Jessane Delos Santos, Vince Digma, Serge Demicillo, Stat Dionio, Stephen Paculba, Lander Wabe, Lance Pepito, Nong Samones, and Kevin Arendela.
Duwayne and Dart are eyeing to follow the footsteps of Marbel’s pride Christian Perez, who achieved several historic feats for the Philippines.
Also cited were students of Philippine Science High School-SOCCSKSARGEN Region Campus after winning three medals – a gold, silver and bronze at the Computational Olympiad held in Hongkong and Singapore.
PSHS-SRC was likewise honored as an outstanding school – thanks to the resolution filed by Councilor John Rey “Chow” Rodriguez.
