Members of the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) on Saturday, Sept 20, tied white ribbons inscribed with #StopKorap around Luneta Park along Taft Avenue, in a symbolic act of protest against government corruption.

The initiative forms part of a broader campaign leading up to the Baha sa Luneta Rally on September 21, which is expected to draw thousands of demonstrators.

ACT said the white ribbons are a “symbolic” gesture of resistance, welcoming thousands of protesters expected to join the nationwide call for accountability.

ACT stressed that corruption in the national budget diverts critical resources from classrooms, hospitals, and community services, while enabling patronage politics and kickback-laden projects to thrive.

The group also urged all Filipinos to join the September 21 Baha sa Luneta Rally to demand that the Marcos administration prioritize education, healthcare, housing, and other urgent social needs in the national budget. (Merlina Hernando-Malipot)
