The clatter of dice and the cheer of teammates echoed across Ayala Malls Manila Bay last September 14 as Neutral Grounds, the country’s premier tabletop retailer, crowned its first Neutral Grounds Championship League (NGCL) 2025 winners.
Celebrating 27 years of gaming camaraderie, the league gathered elite players from ten of their branches nationwide, each representing their home store in a spirited battle for glory.

The teams clashed for bragging rights, shiny trophies, and a mountain of loot, including premium Ultimate Guard gear, exclusive promo cards, and store credits.
Beyond that, General Manager Paul Mendoza says the NGCL’s real prize is shared experience: “This is a battle for glory, yes—but more than that, it’s about teamwork, growth, and representing the Neutral Grounds family.”

Note that since June, hundreds of competitors have earned points in local tournaments, their progress tracked live at https://ngcl.neutralgrounds.online.
Founded in 1998, Neutral Grounds—affectionately called “NG” by regulars—has long been a haven for fans of Magic: The Gathering, Flesh and Blood, Star Wars Unlimited, Dungeons & Dragons, Conquest, and Marvel Crisis Protocol.

For many, NG is more than a shop; it’s a second home where friendships form across trading cards and painted miniatures.

General Manager Paul Mendoza says the NGCL is both a thank-you and a celebration of community: “After a hard day at work, our customers come to our stores to play with friends and strangers alike. Across the table, it doesn’t matter if you’re a student, doctor, or entrepreneur—you’re simply a passionate player chasing the next great game.” (Photos by Kuhaku Media)
