Magnolia has secured the services of its young and promising big in Zavier Lucero while Converge has also locked in Juan Gomez De Liano as teams continue their build up for the upcoming PBA 50th season.
After weeks of speculations regarding the future of the 6-foot-7 forward, the Hotshots and Lucero have finally agreed to terms, signing the former University of the Philippines standout to a two-year deal.
Lucero, who emerged as one of Magnolia’s top weapons ever since the team landed him through a trade with NorthPort, is expected to be a big foundational piece for the Hotshots, especially during their rebuilding phase under new head coach LA Tenorio.

The 26-year-old forward was reportedly gaining interests from teams overseas before agreeing to a deal with Magnolia. In attendance during the signing were team manager Alvin Patrimonio, Tenorio, Lucero and his agent.
Also agreeing to terms with his team was Juan Gomez De Liano who inked a three-year contract with Converge, the team which selected him second overall in the recent rookie draft.
De Liano signed the contract in presence of head coach Dennis Pineda and Strong Group Athletics Frank Lao.
The 6-foot-1 playmaker brimming with overseas experience is expected to be a vital piece to the FiberXers title bid. He is joining an already potent core of Justin Arana, Justine Baltazar, Schonny Winston and Alec Stockton.
Also signed to an extension this week was Ricci Rivero of Phoenix.
After being part of the several trade rumors during the offseason, the Fuel Masters have finally agreed to terms with Rivero, who the team views as part of its young core under new head coach Willie Wilson.
