The Supreme Court will administer the 2025 online Bar examinations beginning Sunday, Sept. 7, with 13,301 registered examinees expected to troop to 14 testing centers nationwide.

The final two examination days are set for Sept. 10 and 14.

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila is the national headquarters and one of the testing centers for the Bar exams.

The other testing centers are San Beda University – Mendiola in Manila; New Era University in Quezon City; Manila Adventist College in Pasay City; San Beda College – Alabang in Muntinlupa City; University of the Philippines – Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City; and Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in Makati City;

Saint Louis University in Baguio City; University of Nueva Caceres in Naga City; University of San Jose Recoletos in Cebu City; Central Philippine University in Iloilo City; Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation in Tacloban City; Ateneo de Davao University in Davao City; and Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology in Iligan City.

On Sunday, Sept. 7, the subjects covered in the examinations are Political and Public International Law from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and Commercial and Taxation Laws from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, Sept 10, subjects covered are Civil Law in the morning and Labor Law and Social Legislations in the afternoon.

Subjects covered on the last day of the examinations on Sunday, Sept. 14, are Criminal Law in the morning and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises in the afternoon.

SC Associate Justice Amy C. Lazaro-Javier is the chairperson of the Bar Examinations Committee.

Results of the examinations are expected to be announced by the SC in December this year. The oath taking of the passers and the signing of the Roll of Attorneys will follow thereafter.

Local government units (LGUs) where the Bar examinations will be held have adopted measures to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic, and peace and order like liquor bans, vendor restrictions, and noise control.

In Manila, Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso has signed Executive Order No. 41 imposing a liquor ban, vendor restrictions, noise control measures, and other activity prohibitions within a 500-meter radius of San Beda University and UST during the 2025 Bar examinations.

Under the order, liquor ban will be enforced around both schools from midnight of Sept. 6 until 10 p.m. of Sept. 7; midnight of Sept. 9 until 10 p.m. of Sept. 10; and midnight of Sept. 13 until 10:00 p.m. of Sept.

Ambulant vendors are prohibited within the same 500-meter radius from Sept. 6 to midnight of Sept. 8; Sept. 9 to midnight of Sept. 12; and Sept. 14 to midnight of Sept.16.

Since there is number coding in Metro Manila on the second day of the exams on Wednesday, Sept. 10, the SC had made arrangements for the exemption for the examinees.

The SC said the examinees must display a copy of their Bar examinations permit or notice of admission in their vehicles’ rear windshield.

It also said that examinees must register their vehicles online by Sept. 8 to avoid the contact-less apprehension for violation of the number coding scheme in Metro Manila.

In 2024, a total of 3,962 out of 10,480 examinees passed the online Bar examinations. (Rey Panaligan)
