Jaja Santiago finds a new home in Japan’s SV. League after signing with the Denso Airybees.
The team announced the development on social media Wednesday, Aug. 27, welcoming the 29-year-old middle blocker who now goes by her Japanese name, Sachi Minowa.
“I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to play for Denso Airybees this season. A big thank you to the team for welcoming me — I’m excited to work hard and contribute to our success,” said Santiago that was posted by the team on their social media.
“My goal is to give my best every game, improve continuously, and help us achieve great results. Together, I believe we can reach our goal and make everyone proud!” she added.
Prior to this, Santiago played for the Osaka Marvelous in 2023, and the Saitama Ageo Medics in four seasons.
This wouldn’t be the first time that Denso has recruited Filipina talent. Prior to Santiago, the team had setter Jia De Guzman for two years.
The Airybees finished fourth last season with a 29-15 record.
