Irus Chua buries 11 triples as Mandaluyong stays perfect in Jr. MPBL

Sweet-shooting Irus Chua put on a shooting clinic, firing 38 points on 11 booming triples as Mandaluyong Junior Microsmith clobbered Rizal Switch Fiber, 115-88, and stayed undefeated in the Manny Pacquiao’s Junior MPBL Season 3 over the weekend at the Divine Light Academy Gym in Las Pinas.

A member of the Under-17 PH team that saw action in the FIBA World Cup last year in Turkey, Chua scored from almost every angle to finish with an impressive 13-of-25 shooting from field, including 11-of-21 from the trifectaville to lead Mandaluyong to its 9th straight win in as many outings in the North division of the event for 18 years old and below.

Chua’s 11 triples are a new-high in the league.

, Chua also had three rebounds and one assist in a 40-minute job, a feat that earned him the best player of the game award.

While Chua was hurting Rizal with his long bombs, Mart Adrian Jagonoy attacked the paint with might and contributed 27 points and 22 rebounds while Kevin Frogoso and Justin Jairus Elduayan added 17 and 15 points, respectively.

The loss was the second for Rizal.

Also undefeated in the North division is San Juan with 7-0 while Binan leads the South division with 9-0.
