The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is proposing to launch a new numbers game—pending approval from the Office of the President—that could award a jackpot of no less than ₱1 billion to lucky winners.

During Wednesday’s House Committee on Appropriations hearing on the ₱6.793-trillion National Expenditure Program (NEP), officials from the state-run agency informed lawmakers of their plan to introduce “Lotto Bilyonaryo,” a new game with a minimum bet of ₱100.

The new game is expected to generate more revenue for the PCSO and will complement the existing Lotto and Small Town Lottery (STL).

“Meron po kaming inaasahan na i-la-launch na another variants sa ating lotto, ‘yun po ‘yung Lotto Bilyonaryo. At P100 bet, initial winning is P1 billion. So that’s one,” PCSO Chairperson Felix Reyes said.

Reyes, who already told the Senate about its proposal as early as September 2024, made the remark after House members asked PCSO regarding its plan to boost its income to help more Filipinos seeking medical assistance from its office.

“We are also in the process of entertaining new games, na hindi po sakop ng Pagcor. It’s a new game, but it’s involving lottery,” he added.

But Reyes said PCSO is still waiting for the approval of the Office of the President (OP) before launching the new game. (Joseph Pedrajas)
