ILOILO CITY – What began as a desperate race to save a life ended in tragedy.
On Friday, August 15, in Pototan town, Iloilo province, a stabbing victim and his brother were killed in a vehicular collision while rushing to the hospital.
The Pototan Municipal Police Station identified the victims as Reymar and Reymond Postrado.
Police Major Bryan Alamo, Pototan police chief, said Reymar was stabbed with a bolo by his brother-in-law Mike in Barangay Abangay.
Responding policemen arrested Mike.
Severely wounded Reymar was rushed by his brothers to the hospital on board their tricycle.
But their tricycle driven by brother Riyen collided head on with a pickup truck on the national highway in Barangay Rumbang. Reymar and Reymond died on the spot.
“For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the Nissan Navarra,” said Alamo.
Riyen was thrown off the motorcycle and slammed into another vehicle. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
“The incidents remain under active investigation to establish the full circumstances and assign appropriate accountability,” added Alamo. (Tara Yap)
