After eight years, the hugot film that broke thousands of hearts is back — but this time, with new music.
“100 Awit Para Kay Stella,” the long-awaited sequel to “100 Tula Para Kay Stella,” reunites Bela Padilla and JC Santos as Stella and Fidel — two souls forever linked by words, silence, and love that never quite faded.
Set 15 years after their last encounter, the film finds Stella thriving as an events organizer, newly freed from an abusive relationship.
Fidel, still struggling with his stutter, has given up dreams of performing. Instead, he ghostwrites songs for a rising singer, Clyde (played by Kyle Echarri).

At one of Stella’s events, Clyde performs a song about “a girl with black lipstick.” The lyrics strike a chord. When Stella learns that Fidel is the man behind the words, the past slowly seeps into the present — and the music becomes a bridge between them once more.
For Bela, returning to Stella was more than just revisiting a character.
“I love Stella so much — the film, and the character. I think it put me on the map as an actress,” she shared. “People started taking me seriously not just as someone who could act, but someone who could bring in box office numbers. That film changed everything for me.”
She also revealed the powers that be almost had her replaced.
“They got someone else at one point. I felt bad… but thankfully, they changed their minds.”

JC needed to be sure the sequel had something new to say before he said yes.
“I actually asked Jason Paul [Laxamana, film writer, director], what’s different this time? What can we add to make it feel real, and worth it — not just for us, but for the fans?”
The two assured “100 Awit Para Kay Stella” is an apt continuation of the well-loved saga.
As the story unfolds through song, Fidel and Stella are forced to face not just what they had, but who they’ve become. Can they love again — fully, finally — or will history repeat itself?
“100 Awit Para Kay Stella” opens in cinemas September 10.
