Veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez-Atayde was seen actively distributing relief goods last week to thousands of flood victims in various parts of Quezon City during and after the onslaught of typhoons Emong and Dante.

It wasn’t the first time.

The mother of actor-politician Arjo, actress Ria, and award-winning dancer-TV host Gela, has been active in helping kababayans consistently even in the past.

“That is part of what we do even before every time there is a typhoon,” she attested. “We are helping those who are affected by giving them food, basic needs, and other goods.”

She noted that Arjo, who now sits as Quezon City first district Congressman, has since followed her lead.

“I am proud and happy for my son’s initiative,” Sylvia said. “That he is also supported by his cousins as headed by Gab [Atayde] and other relatives makes me proud. So thankful.”

Note that Arjo was also seen distributing bread and drinks to police officers on duty during the State of the Nation’s Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

The meryenda brought smiles to the faces of the more than thousand police men and women there.

Arjo on his part said that he merely wanted to offer a gesture of love and support to the men in uniform promoting peace and order all over Quezon City.
