In a world where love stories are either epic or fleeting, “Meg & Ryan” dares to live in the gray space — the space of doubt, timing, and the complicated chemistry of two people who should never work, but somehow do.
It is not just a film about romance. It’s about the chance encounters that shift your axis. The ones that start as nothing — and maybe, just maybe, end up being everything.

Starring Rhian Ramos and JC Santos in their first on-screen pairing, “Meg & Ryan” is the kind of slow-burning, emotionally textured film that surprises you — not just with its charm, but with its honesty.
Written by acclaimed screenwriter Gina Marissa Tagasa and helmed by Catherine O. Camarillo in her first solo directorial feature, the film captures a one-night stand that might not stay a one-night story.
But ask its lead stars if they’ve ever romanticized so-called no-strings encounters and their answers are refreshingly candid.

“Ako, during my young, wildest years, maybe. When you’re young, wild and free gusto mo ng bad boy,” Rhian shares, laughing. “Pero siyempre, dahil lumaki na ako, mas careful na.”
She pauses, then adds, “The older you get, you realize that’s not really what relationships should be.”
JC echoes the sentiment. “Same lang din. When I was young, may mga ganon din akong relasyon, pero wala, hindi nagtatagumpay ang akin.”
Both actors are now firmly rooted in their real-life romances — JC is married, while Rhian’s long-term relationship with entrepreneur Sam Verzosa continues to turn heads, sparking frequent “when’s the wedding?” speculation.
With that kind of personal growth behind them, stepping into the unpredictable dynamic of “Meg & Ryan” brought a welcome challenge.

In the film, Rhian plays Meg — impulsive, daring, unwilling to play by anyone’s rules.
JC is Ryan — measured, cautious, bruised by the past.
What begins as a flirty dare turns into a night neither can forget — not because of what happened, but because of what it revealed.
For JC, working with Rhian was more than a box checked — it was a revelation.
“Si Rhian — bucket list ko talaga siya makatrabaho,” he admits. “Now that it’s happening, I’m seeing her process, her dedication. She really gives the truth in every scene.”
Rhian returns the praise. “Napaka-generous ni JC as an actor. If there’s anything he can do to help you in a scene, he will. Hindi lang basta acting ang iko-contribute niya — he offers insights into the dialogue, too. It made my job so easy.”
Also starring Cedrick Juan, Ces Quesada, Cris Villanueva, Jef Gaitan, among others, “Meg & Ryan” premieres in cinemas, August 6.
