Malacañang has assured the public that there will be no cover-up in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of at least 34 cockfighting enthusiasts, known as sabungeros, a case that has remained unresolved for four years.
Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro made the statement following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive for a deeper and more extensive probe into the case.
Castro emphasized that if the remains recently discovered in Taal Lake are confirmed to be connected to the missing sabungeros, the current administration will ensure that justice is served.
(Betheena Unite)
