Alas Pilipinas Women players Vanie Gandler and Leila Cruz are not only admired for their athletic prowess but also for their beauty and charm.

Yes, they have the looks of celebrities, and for that reason, they are also the hottest candidates for the Ms. Volleyball Rose – a side event of the VTV International Women’s Volleyball Cup in Vietnam.

After helping the Nationals to a 2-1 win-loss record in Pool A, Cignal’s Gandler and Capital1’s Cruz took a break from action and went to their off-the-court quest by flaunting their

Filipina beauty while wearing Vietnam’s traditional dress ‘Áo dài’.

Like goddess, they caught the fancy of fellow volleyball players as they joined other candidates from other teams including from host Vietnam and Australia which undeniably brought delight to the crowd.

Aside from bolstering its sports activities, one of the objectives of Vietnam is to continue promote its culture to the foreign visitors.

Last year, Bella Belen, Caitlin Viray and Des Cheng bannered the Philippines in the special event of the week-long competition.

This Thursday, July 3, the Jia De Guzman-led Alas will test its mettle against Est Cola (Thailand U21) in the quarters at 6 p.m.
