The countdown is on. On June 15, the Grand Coronation Night of Binibining Pilipinas 2025 will unfold at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, where a new set of queens will take center stage.
We recently caught up with the 36 official candidates at an intimate event hosted by beauty and wellness brand My Daily Collagen. Spoiler alert: they weren’t just stunning—they were strikingly sincere.
Each candidate introduced herself with stories of resilience, passion, and purpose. Among the standouts was Mia Bettina Golosino of Malabon, who spoke openly about living with PCOS, and Francesca Beatriz Abalajon of Aklan, a vocal advocate for cervical cancer awareness. Then there’s Katrina Anne Johnson of Davao, back with fire after placing first runner-up last year.
Legacy runs strong with Jemille Rustia Zosa of Mandaluyong, daughter of a 1995 candidate and granddaughter of a 1968 runner-up. She’s definitely aiming to make it a family hat trick.
In a brief interview, the candidates sparked thoughtful takes.
Alyssa Villariña of Rizal weighed in on cosmetic enhancements: “If it makes them more confident and happy, then I support it.”
When asked if beauty pageants are worth the financial cost, Annabell Mae McDonnell of Iligan offered a grounded response: “I never based my self-worth on my net worth; I base it on my networks.”
Radha Marie Cabug of Las Piñas addressed the relevance of pageants today: “They’ve evolved into platforms where women can be seen, heard, and empowered.”
As My Daily Collagen CEO Anna Perez reminded the candidates, “Beauty isn’t just about looks—it’s about how you treat others. We’re all here for a reason. We all have our purpose.”
Pageantry, it seems, still has something meaningful to say.
