TACLOBAN CITY – A 48-year-old man fatally stabbed his wife before ending his own life at their home in Barangay Tenani, Paranas, Samar, on Thursday, June 4, following a heated argument over the woman’s plan to work in Manila.
The victim, Issa, 38, and the suspect, Boy, were both farmers and residents of the area.
Authorities discovered Issa lifeless at the back of their home, while Boy was found inside the house, lying face down with blood oozing from his body.
According to reports, the couple had a heated altercation over Issa’s plan to work in Manila, which escalated into violence.
Boy allegedly stabbed his wife multiple times before turning the weaon on himself.
Responding officers recovered two long-bladed weapons, locally known as sundang, at the scene.
The Paranas Emergency Rescue Response Team rushed the victims to the Paranas Rural Health Unit, but they were pronounced dead on arrival. (Marie Tonette Marticio)
