Rain or Shine has tapped the services of Kris Porter to fill in the void at the frontcourt while Beau Belga is still recovering from vertigo that is expected to sideline him for quite some time.
The 36-year-old Belga had to be helped off the court after experiencing dizziness during the second quarter of the Elasto Painters’ last game against the TNT Tropang Giga at the Ynare Center in Antipolo.
As a precautionary measure and while the bulky big man is getting his medication, ROS has decided to put Belga to the unrestricted free-agent list with rights to salary, leaving the team with one open slot to sign Porter.
Belga isn’t expected to sign anywhere else though as it was pretty much the same setup other teams had with their players.

TNT did the same to Jayson Castro, who is still recovering from a knee injury as well as Ginebra to Tenorio, who, on the other hand, is still busy with his coaching duties with the Gilas Boys team.
For Porter though, it is the big break that he’s been waiting for since getting released Converge back in 2022. There’s not much of adjustment is expected for the 6-foot-5 big man as he’s already familiar with the system of head coach Yeng Guiao, who was also his mentor at NLEX when he first made it to the big league.
Porter is boosting a depleted frontline for ROS, which only has Keith Datu and Leonard Santillan left in its lineup with Luis Villegas still sidelined with a nagging knee injury.
