A motorcycle rider initially stopped by police for not wearing a helmet was later found transporting P307,000 worth of illegal drugs in Parañaque City on Friday, May 23.
The suspect, identified as alias “Hidehiro,” 21, a resident of Tondo Manila, was apprehended at around 4:50 a.m. in front of Imperial Plaza on Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.
Officers from the Parañaque City Police Tambo Substation, conducting “Oplan Sita,” flagged down the suspect for failing to wear a helmet.
When police asked for Hidehiro’s driver’s license and motorcycle documents, he refused and attempted to flee by abandoning his motorcycle.
Upon inspection, police found inside the suspect’s motorcycle compartment 40 grams of shabu packed in 15 aluminum sachets and 10 transparent sachets, with a total value of P272,000, along with ecstasy tablets worth P35,000.
Following his arrest, Hidehiro was detained at the Parañaque City Police custodial facility and charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), and resistance and disobedience to persons in authority. (Jean Fernando)
