Veteran guard Kiefer Ravena signed an extension deal with the Yokohama B-Corsairs in Japan B. League, the team announced Tuesday, May 20.
The 31-year-old Ravena has no plans of leaving the Japanese club as he re-signed for his second straight season as a member of the B-Corsairs, marking his fifth year with the squad.
He suited up for the Shiga Lakes in his first three seasons in the tournament.
“I’m excited to go back to Yokohama and play next season,” said Ravena on Yokohama’s social media post.
“We want to be a championship team and I believe we have the chance to do so. I hope we can stay healthy and bring a championship to Yokohama,” he added.
With his renewed contract, Ravena followed the path of his Gilas teammate Kai Sotto, who inked for another season with the Hiroshima Dragonflies.
In his 52 games, the 6-foot guard put up good numbers in his first year as a B-Corsair as he averaged 9.8 points, 3.8 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 24 minutes on the floor.
The former Gilas Pilipinas and Ateneo standout was also named as part of Asia All-Stars alongside Matthew Wright, Dwight Ramos, AJ Edu, and Dwight Ramos.
This year, Ravena and Yokohama came up short in their bid a playoff berth after carding a 24-36 slate.
