San Miguel easily breezed past Phoenix, 111-92, to get back on the winning track in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium onSunday, May 11.

The Beermen unloaded a 13-4 run to open the second frame, setting the tone to the dominant showing that allowed SMB to get a firm hold of the third spot in the standings with a 4-2 record.

Trollano was in the middle of the huge second frame onslaught, pouring 10

of his 21 points before the rest of the Beermen, particularly CJ Perez and

June Mar Fajardo, sustained the assault in the second half.

Perez finished with 26 points, five rebounds and four assists while Fajardo had 10 of his 20 in the third to go with 12 rebounds in the supporting role.

The Beermen were only holding a 30-29 lead at the end of the first 12 minutes before they erected a 43-33 lead almost halfway through the second.

SMB kept its foot on the gas pedal and never looked back since then as the lead ballooned to as big as 24 and was hardly threatened after that.

Rookie Kai Ballungay paced the Fuel Masters with 23 points while Ken Tuffin added 15. Phoenix, however, still fell to a 2-5 slate.
