Raven Alcoseba and Dayshaun Ramos emerged as the top Filipino finishers in the 2025 NTT Asian Triathlon Cup Subic Bay that was dominated by Japanese bets over the weekend.
Alcoseba, a bronze medalist at the 2021 Vietnam Southeast Asian Games, negotiated the 1.5-kilometer swim, 40km bike, 10km run race with a time of 2 hours, 14 minutes and 16 seconds to finish at 11th place in the women’s division ruled by top favorite Manami Hayashi.
The 20-year-old Manami, who finished silver at last year’s Japan National Triathlon Championships, triumphed with a time of 2:04:54, a minute ahead of Korean silver medalist Park Gayeon (2:05:21) and two minutes faster than another Korean in bronze winner Jeong Hye Rim (2:06:25).
Ramos, for his part, finished 14th in the men’s elite side with a time of 1:58:34 — eight minutes slower than eventual champion Takuto Oshima.
Oshima, who finished second in the 2025 Asia Triathlon Cup Chennai in India and ranked No. 151st in the world, posted 1:50:25 for the gold medal with Kazakhstan’s Darvin Konesbayeb checking in 27 seconds after.
Another Japanese in Maeda Ryousuke settled for third in 1:51:16.
Other finishers in the elite female were Samantha Corpuz at 14th (2:16:36), Katrina Salazar at 19th (2:35:02), Nicole Del Rosario at 20th (2:38:48).
Another SEAG campaigner in Andrew Kim Remolino finished 16th in the men’s side (1:55:33) with Fer Casares coming in 21st at 1:56:26, followed by Iñaki Lorbes (25th, 1:58:54), Irienold Reig Jr. (29th, 2:00:10), Matthew Hermosa (30th, 2:01:39), Juan Miguel Tayag (31st, 2:01:59), Joshua Ramos (36th, 2:04:22), John Ciron (39th, 2:06:55), John Wayne Ybañez (40th, 2:07:03), Daniel Cadavos (41st, 2:08:06),Maynard Pecson (42nd, 2:08:23), Renz Wynn Corbin (44th, 2:13:35), Franklin Yee (45th, 2:17:07) and Enrico Burgos (46th, 2:18:34).
