Arnold Vegafria has achieved a lot as president and founder of ALV Talent Circuit.
Apart from being recognized as starmaker, guiding and managing some of local entertainment’s biggest names, Arnold is also known as an eminent film, TV, and concert producer.
He is also director of several beauty pageants, including Miss World Philippines and Miss Grand Philippines.
He has since dabbled in sports, being among key founders of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and the Chairman of the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) mixed martial arts league.
Not many know this but he is also political adviser and consultant to some of the country’s more prominent politicians including incumbent President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
He also played a significant role in the campaigns of several party lists in the recent past.
Arnold told us during a recent gathering at Kamuning Bakery, “Kaya nga hindi puwedeng sabihin ng mga tao na kesyo galing ako sa showbiz e, wala akong alam sa politika. I’ve been with all these people for years.”
Note that Arnold is now running as mayoralty candidate in Olongapo.
His aim? To bring the city back to its old glory.
He maintained, “Actually, wala akong balak. All of my friends in politics also told me not to. Pero I think, it’s a calling. It’s something na kailangan kong gawin.”
He added, “Lumaki ako sa Olongapo. Dun ako nag-aral hanggang high school. Nakita ko kung paano kaganda ang siyudad noon. Kung gaano kasigla ang ekonomiya. Sadly e, through the years, medyo lumamlam ang lahat. Hindi na ganoon ka-vibrant ang Olongapo. Gusto kong baguhin ito. Malaki ang potential ng Olongapo. Kailangan lang i-harness ito.”
Arnold has created a master plan to achieve his goal. It includes boosting the local entertainment scene as with tourism.
He said, “Entertainment really is my line, and I also studied tourism. I know I can implement my plan and bring back the glory of Olongapo City.”
He made clear: “Hindi po kung ano-anong entertainment lang ang dadalhin natin sa siyudad. World-class po ang plano natin, de-kalidad. I want the city to be a hub of superb yet clean family entertainment.”
For tourism, He wants to highlight Olongapo’s natural treasures, including its beautiful beaches and majestic mountains.
Beyond that, Arnold wants to establish a well-equipped public hospital to provide accessible health care for all.
“I know that it won’t be an easy task, but I am confident that with dedication and perseverance, we can rebuild this city and bring it back to its old glory. Olongapo still holds immense potential and opportunities for growth and we need good leaders to make it happen.”
