Former Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon aired her support for the mayoral bid of Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Thursday, April 24, despite their clash during the 2022 presidential elections.

In a Facebook post, Guanzon said the current state of the city is in need of another “bath,” and she believes that Domagaso could be the one to do it.

“Compare kay Sam (Verzosa) at Honey (Lacuna), yes, Isko na ako. Inaway ko yan nung 2022 for Leni pero iba na ang sitwasyon ng Maynila, kailangan na ulit paliguan. At sa tingin ko, yung dating basurero ang makakagawa nun,” Guanzon said.

Isko and the former commissioner exchanged tirades during the 2022 presidential elections when the former, who ran for president against then Vice President Leni Robredo, urged her to withdraw from the race. This earned the ire of Guanzon who was a supporter of Robredo.

Guanzon was named Comelec commissioner on April 28, 2015 for a seven-year term that lasted in February 2022.

Domagoso is now running again for mayor of the capital city against incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna and Sam Verzosa in the upcoming May midterm elections. (Patrick Garcia)
