The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) hopes to boost the sport by hosting the 2025 GoTyme Bank Cup in September.
The planned tournament is expected to draw top teams from various countries like Indonesia and South Africa, with Vietnam and Singapore entertaining hopes of joining as well.
PFF, which announced its recent partnership with digital bank GoTyme, hopes it will become an annual competition as it also targets to host a women’s competition next year.
“This will be an exciting event for our football team, a great challenge for us, which is really important,” said men’s head coach Albert Capellas.
The partnership of PFF and GoTyme also extends in supporting the national teams, as well as holding a series of outreach programs for the youth.
“(Both PFF and GoTyme) share the same goal of bringing Philippine football further, not only by supporting our national teams, but also by developing training camps for young kids,” said Freddy Gonzalez, director of senior national football teams.
“This is a shared vision that shows GoTyme Bank is the right partner to help us build the future of Filipino football,” he added.
GoTyme Bank CEO Nate Clarke echoed the sentiments, adding: “There is an undeniable love for football in the country, and it’s only continuing to grow [and] our partnership with PFF allows us to be there for athletes and fans alike.”
“Every breakthrough is beautiful, and it is at this moment that great athletes are born. At the core of this partnership is GoTyme’s commitment to furthering the sport by unlocking human potential at its earliest stage,” said GoTyme co-CEO and chief commercial officer Albert Tinio.
