The Bureau of immigration (BI) launched a manhunt against a South Korean who managed to escape from his three escorts after attending a hearing at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC).

Based on the report, 28-year-old Na Ikhyeon, who is wanted in Korea for alleged fraudulent activities, fled after attending a hearing of his estafa case in Quezon City on March 4.

Na was arrested on May 31, 2023 but his deportation was withheld as he is still facing a case before the local court.

BI Commissioner Joel Viado immediately ordered a manhunt against the suspect.

“We are investigating if his legal counsel has knowledge of this seemingly pre-planned incident,” said Viado.

“We have also assigned a special tracker team to locate him and again take custody,” he added.
