Carlos Yulo is expected to receive more than P1.6 million cash incentives for his medal haul at the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.

As provided for by the law under Republic Act 10699, a gold medal winner in the said biennial meet is entitled to a P300,000 cash bonus, while a silver medal is worth P150,000 and bronze P60,000.

Yulo, a two-time world champion, became the most bemedalled Filipino athlete so far in the Games after collecting five gold and two silver medals.

His golds came in individual all-around, rings, vault, horizontal bar and floor exercise, while his silver medals were won in parallel bar and team event.

His other P150,000 incentive for a silver medal in the team event, however, will be equally divided between him and his teammates as per law.
