Maj. John Ganzon, town police chief, said Yunsal was driving a motorcycle when he accidentally hit the rear part of a truck parked at the roadside due to an alleged mechanical trouble.

Yunsal and Chrismichu fell on the ground and was allegedly run over by a tailing motorcycle driven by Guarin, the police chief added.

Both motorcycles were allegedly speeding and the riders were not wearing helmets, Ganzon said, adding that the victims came from Bago City.

All four victims were brought to a hospital, but Yunsal and Chrismichu were declared dead on arrival.

Guarin and Cleo sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital here.

Ganzon said truck driver Jumar Esparagoza, 34, of La Castellana town, set up an early warning device when he suddenly heard a loud noise few minutes after he parked the vehicle.

The accident happened past 6 p.m.

Ganzon said Esparagoza was placed under police custody for further investigation, but was released the following day.

Ganzon said they are waiting for the decision of the victims’ families on the filing of charges.
