Police Regional Office for Zamboanga Peninsula (PRO-9) director Police Brig. Gen. Jesus Cambay Jr. identified the suspect as Lahaba Muhajid Bacolod alias Remy Bacolod, 42, a resident of Barangay Makiang, Siocon, Zamboanga Del Norte

Cambay said combined police operatives of Anti-Kidnapping Group-Mindanao Field Unit, Siocon Municipal Police Station, and other intelligence agencies served two warrants of arrest  for murder and another for theft to the suspect at his residence at 5:45 a.m., Thursday.

He was immediately brought to Siocon District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Bacolod was one of the masterminds in the killing of Engineer Tan in Siocon, Zamboanga Del Norte in 2012.

Bacolod was wanted for two counts of murder with no bail recommended; and theft with a recommended bail bond of P12,000.
