Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso called anew on tricycle drivers to follow traffic and quarantine guidelines after a trike driver was caught overcharging his passenger.

The Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) on Monday received a report that a tricycle driver charged a passenger r50 after plying a 1.2-kilometer distance.

Per Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) guidelines, tricycle drivers can only charge P20 for the first kilometer, and an additional P5 for every succeeding half-kilometer.

The vehicle of the tricycle driver who committed the violation was impounded after the complaint was relayed to the MTPB. (Minka Tiangco)
