Man arrested for stealing 2 cans of luncheon meat

Police arrested a man who stole two cans of luncheon meat worth nearly P400 at a supermarket in Paco, Manila on Friday morning.

Police said the suspect, Rommel Figueroa, 53, a pedicab driver and resident of Makati City, is a members of the Sigue-Sigue Sputnik gang.

Police said a security guard caught Figueroa stealing two cans of luncheon meat worth P381 at around 11:30 a.m.

The stolen goods were recovered, while the shoplifter went through a medical check-up before being turned over to the police.

Figueroa, who is now under police custody, will be charged with theft, police said. (Minka Tiangco)
