Peter Joemel Advincula alias “Bikoy” should pass evaluation for his entry to the Witness Protection Program (WPP), said Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra.

Guevarra has assured that Advincula’s WPP application will be subjected “for careful evaluation.”

“He must meet all the legal requirements for WPP provisional coverage,” he said.

Lawyer Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon, legal counsel of Advincula, filed on his behalf the WPP application.

“Medyo kasi delikado din ang buhay niya kasi nakita ninyo naman ang na-filan ng cases dito ay mga malalaking mga tao,” Gadon said.

“Even if we do not assume that they will themselves do some nasty act, we cannot say about their supporters,” he added.

Gadon disclosed that Advincula has already been receiving death threats sent to his mobile phone and e-mail.

Last July 18, the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) filed before the Department of Justice (DoJ) a criminal complaint against those allegedly involved in the “Ang Totoong Narcollist” viral videos using the testimony of Advincula.

In its complaint, the PNP-CIDG accused Vice President Leni Robredo and 35 others, including members of the opposition, of committing sedition, inciting to sedition, cyber libel, libel, estafa, harboring a criminal, and obstruction of justice.

The “Ang Totoong Narcolist” features the hooded Bikoy accusing a number of personalities including family members of President Duterte of being involved in the illegal drugs trade.

“As averred by Mr. Advincula, he was engaged by the respondents to spread lies against the President, his family and close associate, making them to appear as illegal trade protectors and how they earned staggering amounts of money,” read the PNP-CIDG complaint. (Jeffrey Damicog)
