Police seized Thursday morning P160,000 worth of high-grade marijuana known as Kush from two brothers during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.

Police Lt. Col. Joel Villanueva, Quezon City Police Station 6 (PS-6) commander, said Jason King, a 46-year-old insurance coordinator, and his younger brother Bryan King, 44, a Grab driver, both residents of Valenzuela City, were arrested in Barangay Bahay Toro.

The PS-6 Drug Enforcement Unit received information about the illegal activity of the two men, prompting them to conduct an operation against them.

An undercover policeman met with the suspects who were inside a gray Toyota Fortuner on Mindanao Avenue at about 5 a.m. and purchased P70,000 worth of Kush.

After the transaction, anti-narcotics operatives immediately cuffed the duo who yielded four sachets of Kush weighing 112 grams amounting to P168,000 and the buy-bust money.

According to Villanueva, the siblings were supplying Kush to drug peddlers in Metro Manila.

The suspects are now detained at Batasan Police Station while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against them. (Alexandria San Juan)
