A lady bar owner was shot dead by an unidentified gunman at her establishment in Sta. Ana, Manila, late Wednesday night.
The victim, Maricel Padpad, 45, widow, died on the spot inside her Mad Wings Bar and Restaurant at the corner of Tejeron and Syquia Streets after a lone armed man fired shots at her while she was sitting near the entrance door at about 11:10 p.m. on April 3.
Investigation revealed that the suspect immediately rode a motorcycle driven by another unidentified man after the commission of crime. They fled towards the direction of Dr. M. L. Carreon Street.
Authorities recovered from the crime scene six pieces of .45-caliber empty shell and two fired bullets from the crime scene.
Meanwhile, the victim was brought to Ilagan Funeral Parlor for autopsy and safekeeping.
According to Bernadette Verano, Padpad’s business partner, she noticed three men on board a Honda Sedan with plate number XCB 926 outside their establishment at around 3:30 a.m. last Mar. 30.
She also learned from their cook that a man, who was also riding a motorcycle, asked about the identity and whereabouts of the victim last Monday afternoon.
