The Commission on Appointments yesterday confirmed the appointments of Justice Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Agrarian Reform Secretary John R. Castriciones, and Armed Forces Chief of Staff Gen. Carlito G. Galvez

The CA also confirmed the appointments of four other military officers – Brigadier Generals Rolando R. Rodil, Joselito F. Maclan, and Nelson P. Collantes, and Col. Emmanuel G. Galvez – and Commission on Elections Commissioner Socorro Ba-linghasay Inting and the nominations of Sulpicio Miguel Confiado as Philippine Ambassador to the Egypt with concurrent jurisdiction over Djibouti, Eritrea, and Sudan, and Akmad Atiah Sakkam as Philippine Ambassador to Jordan with concurrent jurisdiction over Palestine.

They were confirmed in a plenary session presided over by Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III and before the CA, the Senate, and the House of Representatives go on a sine die adjournment tomorrow.
