Ceres-Negros and Global-Cebu each settled for a point Tuesday night after similar 1-all draws against separate rivals in the AFC Cup.
Spanish defender Manuel “Super” Herrera saved Ceres from defeat against Home United at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore while Global allowed Indonesian side Bali United to score in the second half at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Ceres remained level with Home United at four points each but holds the top spot in Group F on goal difference while Global secured its first point in Group G after opening its campaign two weeks ago with a 1-0 defeat against Vietnam’s FLC Thanh Hoa.
Herrera leveled the score 10 minutes from time with a header off a corner kick, cancelling Home United’s opening goal courtesy of veteran Singapore international Shahril Ishak in the 23rd.
