Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso pledged sustained support for the Manila Police District (MPD) as overall crime incidents in the city dropped by 13.08% in the last quarter of 2025.
Speaking at MPD’s 125th Founding Anniversary on Friday, Feb. 13, Domagoso highlighted police data showing that crime cases declined from 2,110 in the third quarter to 1,834 in the fourth quarter—a reduction of 276 incidents.
Crime solution efficiency also improved by 9.2% during his first 100 days in office, reflecting a higher arrest rate compared to previous months.
Domagoso credited the drop to intensified enforcement and close coordination under MPD leadership.
He urged officers to uphold their mandate and honored fallen comrades with a moment of silence.
“On behalf of the people of Manila, I would like to thank MPD chief General Arnold Abad, the officers of their respective precincts and PCPs, and those patrolling our streets,” Domagoso said.
At the same time, the mayor issued a stern warning to offenders, vowing that the city will exhaust all legal means to apprehend and punish criminals.
“Ngayon, bukas, sa isang linggo, sa isang buwan, kahit ilang taon pa ’yan, basta ginawa mo sa Maynila, mahuhuli ka dito sa amin,” he declared.
To reinforce his commitment, Domagoso announced the release of P26.03 million in MPD allowances for the fourth quarter of 2025.
He later proceeded to Chiang Kai Shek College to formally receive 20 donated motorcycles, aimed at boosting police mobility and response times.
Domagoso thanked Chiang Kai Shek and other private partners for their cooperation, stressing that peace and order in Manila is a shared responsibility between government and community stakeholders. (Odralim Villarez)
