Pangasinan town safety officer shot dead

A safety officer of Calasiao town in Pangasinan was shot dead Tuesday morning by four motorcycle-riding gunmen on his way to office in Barangay Lasip.

Police Major Arturo Melchor, Pangasinan Police information officer, identified the victim as Reynaldo Bugayong, 54, officer-in-charge of the town’s Public Order and Safety Office and resident of Barangay Dinalaoan, Calasiao.

Bugayong was riding a motorcycle on his way to work at about 8:30 a.m. when he was fired upon by four men on board two motorcycles.

The victim died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.

Pangasinan police director Col. Ronald Gayo directed all stations to conduct dragnet operations against the suspects. (Liezle Basa inigo)
