A cop, who was allegedly peddling illegal drugs, was shot death by a motorcyle-riding gunman in Caloocan City yesterday afternoon.
Police identified the victim as Police Officer 3 Arturo Viernes, assigned at Police Community Precinct 3 in North Caloocan.
Investigation showed that Viernes was attacked by a lone gun man who was on board a motorcycle at about 2 p.m. in Barangay 178, Camarin, Caloocan.
Reports said Viernes was in front of a computer shop when the suspect approached and shot him three times from behind.
Probers retrieved from the crime scene three spent shells of .45-caliber pistol.
Police records show that Viernes had been linked to illegal drug activities in North Caloocan. (Jel Santos)
