Operatives of the Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) arrested a 49‑year‑old security guard for shooting his co‑worker inside a plastic manufacturing facility in Barangay Lawang Bato.
Police said the victim, a 52‑year‑old machine operator, was wounded in the incident, which occurred at around 1:40 p.m. inside a compound on Mulawinan Street.
Personnel from VCPS Sub‑station 7 responded to the area and arrested the suspect. The victim was rushed to Valenzuela Medical Center, where he underwent treatment and observation.
According to the police report, the firearm used in the shooting had been issued by a security services agency to another guard assigned at the same facility.
Investigators said the suspect was not authorized to use the weapon and failed to present documents proving legal possession.
The suspect now faces charges of frustrated murder and violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, over the unauthorized possession and use of the firearm.
Authorities are conducting further investigation to determine the circumstances and motive behind the incident.
