Around 13 seized luxury vehicles—including Sara Discaya’s infamous Rolls-Royce Cullinan with its exclusive umbrella—are set to be auctioned via livestream on Nov. 15, as part of restitution efforts tied to the flood control projects corruption scandal.

This was confirmed Thursday, Oct. 30, by Bureau of Customs (BOC) Deputy Chief of Staff Chris Noel Bendijo during a press conference at the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) headquarters in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig.

Bendijo said the 13 vehicles are conservatively valued at P200 million. Seven of them—including the Rolls-Royce, Bentley Bentayga, Mercedes-Benz G63 and G500, Lincoln Navigator L, and Toyota Tundra and Sequoia—have no records of import entry or certificates of payment, making them prime candidates for auction.

“Yes, ‘yun ‘yung may payong. Andoon pa ‘yung payong,” Bendijo confirmed, referring to the Rolls-Royce’s signature umbrella accessory.

He assured bidders that the umbrella will be included with the vehicle, despite growing interest in reserving it separately.

“Accessory follows the principal,” he added.

It was learned in a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing attended by Sarah and her husband Curlee that the Rolls-Royce cost P42 million. However, it remains to be seen how much the winning bid would be once the auction is held.

Bendijo noted that many individuals have expressed their desire to join the auction for the “ill-gotten” luxury vehicles.

He said said ICI chairman, former Supreme Court (SC) associate justice Andres Reyes Jr., ordered the auction to be livestreamed. (Ellson Quismorio)
