A gun-wielding businessman was arrested after he allegedly ran amok, attacking his neighbors in Barangay 649, Baseco, Port Area, Manila, on Thursday, Oct. 23.
The Manila Police District (MPD) Station 13 identified the suspect as “Lito,” 54. He was nabbed following a report from one of his neighbors.
Authorities said that while they were patrolling the area, an individual identified as “Ramil” sought their assistance, claiming that the suspect was attacking residents and acting violently.
This prompted the officers to immediately proceed to the area, where they spotted the suspect.
As they were about to arrest him, Lito allegedly attempted to draw his gun but was quickly subdued.
Police confiscated a .45-caliber Rock Island pistol loaded with seven live rounds from the suspect.
Lito is now under police custody and is facing charges of Grave Threat, Physical Injury, Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority or Agents of Such Person), and R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition). (Richielyn Canlas)
