More than 10 people were injured Thursday morning, August 28, when a passenger bus rammed eight vehicles and crashed into a concrete barrier along Commonwealth Avenue’s northbound lane in Quezon City.

According to the bus conductor, the brakes malfunctioned as the vehicle descended from Litex, causing the driver to lose control.

The bus struck a car, a UV Express van, four motorcycles, a modern jeepney, and a passenger jeepney before crashing into a concrete barrier beneath the MRT-7 railway structure.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene and rescued individuals trapped in the wreckage.

One passenger of the modern jeepney was pinned in the leg, requiring a prolonged extraction effort.

All injured passengers were taken to Commonwealth Hospital for treatment.
