A 35-year-old woman was arrested on Friday, June 20, in Iligan City for allegedly selling explicit images of her three children to foreign clients online.
According to Police Major Joann G. Navarro, PRO 10-Regional Public Information Office chief, said the arrest was carried out through a Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD).
Authorities rescued three minors — two boys and one girl – during the operation. They were immediately turned over to the CSWD Children Assessment and Processing Center for after-care and further support.
The suspect is in police custody as authorities proceed with documentation and case disposition.
She is facing charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (Child Pornography), RA 11930 or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act (Anti-OSAEC and Anti-CSAEM Act), RA 9208 as amended by RA 10364 or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Person Act of 2012, and RA 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
PRO-10 Director Police Brig. Gen. Rolindo M. Suguilon commended the swift and coordinated action of operating units.
