GMA Network, Viu Philippines, and CreaZion Studios are coming together to show us what happens when beauties start getting ruthless.

Premiering July 7 on GMA Prime, “Beauty Empire” is the kind of revenge drama that puts claws in couture, delivering a story that’s equal parts glam and grit.

Starring Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza as the fierce and fabulous Noreen Alfonso, the show dives into the cutthroat world of beauty empires and social media influencers—where betrayal is a skincare step and takedowns come with, err, contour.

Noreen, a self-made mogul from humble beginnings, is on a mission to dismantle the empire built by her sworn enemies. Chief among them is Shari De Jesus (Kyline Alcantara), a beauty CEO with a rabid online following and a mentor straight from hell—Velma Imperial (played with divine menace by Ruffa Gutierrez). But as egos clash and empires crumble, a shadowy figure begins to stir the pot, threatening to bring everything (and everyone) down in a storm of lipstick and lies.

Also in the lineup: Sid Lucero, Sam Concepcion, Chai Fonacier, and Gloria Diaz as the enigmatic Clara.

Adding K-drama sparkle is Korean idol Choi Bo-Min, who is making his Philippine series debut.

Barbie hints at what’s to come: “Punung-puno ng puso, pamilya, fashion, murder mystery, at siyempre, revenge.”

Filmed partly in South Korea, the experience wasn’t all glitz.

“Challenging pero masaya,” says Barbie. “Iba ang energy. Lahat efficient.”

From the minds of Real Florido and Rona Co, and directed by Mark Sicat Dela Cruz, “Beauty Empire” premiered early on Viu (June 16), but its primetime glow-up starts July 7 at 9:35 p.m. on GMA Prime and GMA Pinoy TV.
