The University of Perpetual Help junior spikers teams are eyeing a quick route to the finals with both the Altas and the Lady Altas holding on to a twice-to-beat advantage when they take on their respective foes in the NCAA Season 100 high school volleyball tournament Final Four on Thursday, May 22 at the Arellano Gym.
The defending champion Junior Lady Altas are eyeing a return trip to the finals against the fourth-ranked Lyceum of the Philippines University while the Junior Spikers face up against the Arellano Junior Chiefs.
Both Perpetual junior spikers teams came out of the eliminations unscathed with the girl’s team going perfect through six contests and the boy’s side boasting a neat 9-0 slate.
The Final Four, of course, is an entirely different competition and both squads are looking to take their games a notch higher.
“Umaasa ako na kaya ng mga players ko na makabalik sa Finals yung Boys at Girls sa magandang pinapakita nila sa practice,” said coach Sandy Rieta.
Momentum is on the side of the Altas Spikers heading into the semis clash after it crushed the defending champion Mapua Red Robins s25-23, 25-13 to complete the elims sweep.
The Junior Altas and Junior Lady Altas and the Letran Squires and Arellano Baby Chiefs only need to win one more to advance to the Best-of-Three Finals scheduled to begin on May 29, 2025.
