The teeing off with a purpose continues as the 2nd El Presidente Cup: The Ramon Fernandez Charity Golf Tournament unfurls on June 13 at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club in Carmona, Cavite.

Now on its second edition, Ramon Fernandez, a basketball great, is looking forward to assembling golf enthusiasts, sports stars, supporters and celebrities for another memorable golfing day for all, while fulfilling its duties of bolstering the grassroot programs.

“I am overwhelmed and grateful for the incredible support we’re receiving. After the success of the first El Presidente Cup, we’re expecting another sold-out event, this time, with even more excitement and heart,” said Fernandez.

The first beneficiary will be the country’s rising star in golf, David Charles Serdenia, who won multiple major local titles and set for three upcoming prestigious international tournaments in California, USA.

Serdenia, 16, a son of caddie, will take part in the FCG International in Pala Mesa; USWING in San Diego; and FCG Championships in Palm Desert – all the competition happening a few days after El Presidente Cup.

“To be able to support a young talent like Charles, right before he represents our country abroad is truly a blessing,” Fernandez continued. “This is what our foundation is all about: opening doors for those who dare to dream.”

Registration is up to five to 10 thousand pesos with inclusion of special giveaways, green and caddy fees, golf cart use, and more. All proceeds will be directed to Ramon S. Fernandez Sports and Youth Development Foundation.

Last year, the El Presidente Cup was held at the Liloan Golf and Leisure Estates in Cebu, holding its same goal of lending their hands to the sports youth.
