The Pasig City government turned over on Friday 30 patrol cars to the local police to boost the anti-criminality drive in the city.

Mayor Vico Sotto said the city government spent a total of P25,440,000 for the 30 units of Nissan Almera.

“The cars will be used for their daily operations,” the mayor said.

“Makakatulong ito sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan, at pati sa pagpapatupad ng mga health protocols sa ating mga lansangan,” he added.

He said the city purchased sedan-type vehicles in order for policemen to be able to drive on narrow streets.

The turnover ceremony was held at the Pasig City Hall grounds. (Jel Santos)
