IMUS CITY, Cavite — A fisherman was mauled then stabbed dead by three neighbors who argued with him in a drinking spree at Aplaya Bliss in Barangay Labac, Naic, the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported on Saturday.

A Naic police team found one Jonathan Into Perez already dead with wounds in the head, chest and right armpit on the seaside.

Three neighbors identified as Mandu Wandag Bulawi, 34, a fisherman; Francis Chaw-an Copas, 40, also a fisherman, and Cardo At-At Ginovan, 40, were arrested by the team in connection with the incident.

Police said the suspects were all natives of Mountain Province. Bulawi is from the province’s Tabuk City, Kalinga; and Copas and Ginovan from Poblacion, Sandanga.

Perez, a native of General Emilio Aguinaldo-Bailen, Cavite, and the suspects are all residing at Aplaya Bliss.

Initial investigation conducted by officer-on-case Staff Sergeant Rodrigo Candelario Veloso III showed that Perez was stabbed and hit by the suspects with a bladed weapon and blunt instrument after they had an argument during their drinking spree last Friday in the area.

In a report, Veloso said that a charge of homicide will be filed at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Imus City against the suspects who were detained at the Naic municipal police jail. (Anthony Giron)
